Singing and Speaking Voice Services in NYC and Online:
Who benefits from voice therapy, gender-affirming voice work, and singing voice lessons?
Voice therapy is for people experiencing changes or challenges with their speaking or singing voice — such as vocal fatigue, strain, tension, changes in voice quality, reduced stamina, or a voice that no longer feels consistent or reliable. It is often sought when something feels “off,” during recovery, or to prevent injury and support long-term vocal health.
Singing voice lessons are for singers who are not injured (or who have recovered from injury) but want to develop technique, strength, coordination, agility, and sustainable vocal use for performance and artistic goals.
Gender-affirming voice work (sometimes called gender-affirming voice therapy or gender-aligning voice work) is a set of therapeutic practices that help a person shape their voice and communication style so it feels aligned with their gender identity; not to meet a stereotype, but to feel authentic, safe, and confident.
Free Consultation
Lotus Voice Studio offers a free, 30-minute Zoom consultation for you to get to know your instructor and hear about the studio before committing to lessons.
After the consult, we offer a reduced-rate 45-minute introductory lesson so that you can experience your instructor’s teaching style without paying full price.
Speaking voice therapy clients are not offered free consults. These clients would be referred from a doctor (laryngologist) and can start immediately with an initial session.
Do you offer online voice therapy or singing voice services?
Lotus Voice Studio offers voice therapy and singing voice services in New York City and online.
Virtual sessions are thoughtfully designed to support vocal health, rehabilitation, and sustainable voice use for clients worldwide.
Medical Billing Services and Insurance
For residents of New York State only:
Speaking voice therapy, singing voice therapy, and gender-affirming voice clients have the option to send their sessions to their insurance using a “superbill”. A superbill is an invoice that does not guarantee coverage, but does provide the possibility of your insurance covering your medical services. Lotus Voice Studio does not currently partner with any insurance, and therefore all sessions are paid out-of-pocket up front. Superbills are only created upon request.
However, for New York resident clients needing or wanting speaking voice rehabilitation through insurance, Brittani accepts all Manhattan insurances through Speech Matters. You must first have a scope completed by a laryngologist (voice ENT) or general ENT.
Testimonials
At Lotus Voice Studio, our approach to voice therapy and singing voice training is grounded in evidence-based practice, collaborative care, and sustainable vocal health for clients in NYC and online.
The lotus has been a symbol of rebirth and perseverance for thousands of years. The flower is native to muddy waters, yet emerges perfectly. The lotus serves as a symbol for this voice studio to inspire the students to persevere through the struggles of the creative process and our judgmental minds. Becoming a musician is not an easy journey, but it is one that will bring great joy and help build self-esteem.
We strive to help our students find their true voice, in the literal and figurative sense of that phrase. By helping our students listen to their bodies and find a love of the process, a safe environment is cultivated in which creativity can flourish.
