Free Consultation

Lotus Voice Studio offers a free, 30-minute Zoom consultation for you to get to know your instructor and hear about the studio before committing to lessons.

After the consult, we offer a reduced-rate 45-minute introductory lesson so that you can experience your instructor’s teaching style without paying full price.

Speaking voice therapy clients are not offered free consults. These clients would be referred from a doctor (laryngologist) and can start immediately with an initial session.

Medical Billing Services

Speaking voice therapy, singing voice therapy, and gender-affirming voice clients have the option to send their sessions to their insurance using a “superbill”. A superbill is an invoice that does not guarantee coverage, but does provide the possibility of your insurance covering your medical services. We do not currently partner with any insurance, and therefore all sessions are paid out-of-pocket up front. Superbills are only created upon request.

The lotus serves as a symbol for this voice studio to inspire the students to persevere through the struggles of the creative process and our judgmental minds. Becoming a musician is not an easy journey, but it is one that will bring great joy and help build self-esteem. We strive to help our students find their true voice, in the literal and figurative sense of that phrase. By helping our students listen to their bodies and find a love of the process, a safe environment is cultivated in which creativity can flourish.

The Happy Larynx: Caring For Your Voice With Vocal Health, Part 1: Hydration

Voice problems can onset suddenly and cause concern and stress for the professional and non-professional voice user alike. Managing a voice problem should be done with an interdisciplinary care team comprised of a fellowship-trained laryngologist and voice-specialized SLP. In the case of the professional singer, the care team should also include a clinical singing voice rehabilitation specialist, and the non-clinical voice teacher. A laryngeal exam should be obtained prior to working with a voice therapist, and should include videostroboscopy. The patient should save the video at the end of the exam for easy communication between professionals regarding the case.
